Kim Kwang Soo of Core Contents Media denied that he is involved with the suspicious dealing of money with a female actress, saying that the money was appropriated to the actress for her appearance in a music video.
His legal representative, Attorney Lee Jong Suk, stated on September 15, "Under the request of agency H, Kim Kwang Soo produced two studio albums and one single album for singer K, who is signed under agency H. During this process, he filmed five MVs.
One of the MVs was a 24-minute masterpiece and all of the MVs featured famous actors at the time, and everyone, such as the composer and MV director, was all renowned. The necessary production costs for lyric writing, composing, and recording of the album, the filming costs, and on top of that, the album and MV production were paid for by agency H and the money was all distributed as normal for the actors' appearance fees and production costs. If Chief Kim Kwang Soo gets summoned by the prosecution office, he will explain himself truthfully and there should be no problems."
The lawyer continued, "The current report on suspicious monetary dealings with an actress was exaggerating the ordinarily paid appearance fee in the MV while the report that Chief Kim Kwang Soo is being charged is also completely false.
An investigation by prosecutors will reveal that the suspicions against Chief Kim Kwang Soo are untrue. Thus, before that, we hope you refrain from writing unconfirmed, speculative reports like these that could be severe defamation against Chief Kim Kwang Soo and anyone related. If such nonsense or speculative reports continue, we hope that you keep in mind that appropriate measures will be inevitable."
Currently, Kim Kwang Soo is being investigated for misappropriating a portion of the 4 billion KRW (~ 3.9 million USD) that was given by Kim Kwang Jin (former chairman of Hyundai Swiss Savings Bank) to use for his son, singer Kim Jong Wook's debut and promotions. This led to further investigations on his past transactions, which brought up the recent suspicions about the transactions between Kim Kwang Soo and the female actress.
In regards to the on-going case regarding Kim Jong Wook, the lawyer responded, "Currently, there were no official legal charges. At the present stage, we can't confirm anything in relation to the content about the flow of funds."
