This season of 'Show Me The Money' has the highest number of idol rapper participants since the show's beginning three years ago, but how did they fare in the first round?
Some rappers from idol groups impressed in the first episode, especially VIXX's Ravi, Seventeen's Vernon, 1PUNCH's One, and even former GLAM member Jiyeon. Other contestants included M.I.B's SIMS and 5Zic, Hello Venus' Lime and 2EYES' Dasom. Unfortunately, these four were not able to make it through the tough competition.
We'll have to wait until next week to find out if WINNER's Song Min Ho and SPEED's former leader Taewoon make it, as they were featured as the cliffhanger of the episode. We'll also have to see next episode whether MONSTA X's Jooheon made it too! Although we think the three have very high chances of making it because we know how amazing their rap skills are!
The episode also featured quite a few contestants who were not happy with idols participating in the competition and had diss raps towards them for their audition. The two idols who were specifically pointed out were WINNER's Song Min Ho and Taewoon, formerly from SPEED.
One contestant rapped, "Zico, who has 'boarded' his hyung onto his bus," as the word 'boarded' in this sentence is a pun on Taewoon's name. The rapper continued, "Song Min Ho, who will fall down like dominoes as soon as he comes." One contestant said, "I don't even feel competitive towards them," and another person said, "I will take out all of the idols."
It's a tough world out there in this competition, and we hope our favorite rappers from idol backgrounds show everyone how talented they are!
