Uhm Tae Woong acquitted of rape; investigation for prostitution continues

Sexual assault charges against Uhm Tae Woong have been dropped, but he is being charged with prostitution, which is illegal in Korea.

Channel A reported on October 8 that Uhm Tae Woong has been acquitted of all sexual assault charges. However, he will be handed over to the prosecution investigators for prostitution charges. According to Channel A, the massage parlor Uhm Tae Woong visited has been practicing prostitution.

Earlier last month, Uhm Tae Woong was interviewed by the police after a woman in her 30's brought charges against the actor. She claimed that Uhm Tae Woong raped her back in January while she was working at the massage parlor.

To the accusations, Uhm Tae Woong's publicists have insisted that there was no rape and no prostitution, and that the actor will cooperate with the investigations.
