Jang Yong Joon, who goes by the stage name NO:EL, left 'School Rapper' following a controversy. Despite the ongoing criticism, the young rapper decided to return to the public eye to pursue his passion for hip-hop.
On the first episode of 'SMTM6', NO:EL stated, "People recognize me when I roam the streets and honestly, I got scared and afraid. It's my mistake for causing a controversy. I realized that I can't live that way and I want to live confidently from now on."
He also revealed, "I cried a lot watching the finals of 'School Rapper'. I was jealous and very envious (of other contestants). I want to show a cool side of me now. I want to convince people with my music."
NO:EL showed off his skills in the first round with Jay Park as the judge. He ultimately passed and received the necklace.
Jay Park commented, "He wasn't bad. There weren't any talented contestants in his group so he stood out even more." Choiza also commented, "I think he needs to be more nervous. He wasn't that convincing as much as how confident he looked."
Yang Hong Won or Young B -- the winner of 'School Rapper' -- also joined the auditions. Prior to the 1st round, Young B explained the reason he's trying out for 'SMTM6' and said, "I've developed a strong desire for 'Show Me The Money'. I wasn't cool when I appeared in the past but I've gained confidence after winning 'School Rapper'."
Dynamic Duo's Choiza judged Young B in the first round. Young B also passed and received the necklace.
Choiza gave compliments and commented, "I felt like he doesn't need to prove himself many times."
