During a radio show that JBJ was on, the members' conversation that was supposed to be muted during when the song was playing aired by mistake. The conversation went as follows:
Sangkyun: There are a lot of comments asking us not to talk about our ideal types. Donghan: I don't like talking about it that much. Taehyun: I don't get the way those kids think. Kenta: Ah, we shouldn't do it? Yongguk: There were a lot [saying so] before. Kenta: Through comments? Taehyun: I don't get that thought process telling us not to do it.. Sangkyun: Oh well. Donghan: They don't really like talking about that. Kenta: As expected it's better not to talk about it~
The concept of ideal types have recently become taboo, with more and more idols opting not to talk about it because of the issue of dividing women into 'types', and also because fans just dislike it in general. JBJ member Donghan is actually pretty well known to refuse questions of ideal type because fans don't like the question.
The controversy is in that he is taking fans for granted, especially because of the phrasing he used to talk about fans. He used a term that's used to talk informally about people of lower rank to describe his fans, and his statement in general seemed to look down on the way most fans think. The situation became worse because even in a conversation that was supposed to be private, the other members were thinking about what fans liked and disliked, but the leader of the group was not. This also comes after his previous controversy about commenting on hitting fans.
