Rapper Kiggen says he translated porn for money before debuting

BY jennywill · November 22, 2017
Kiggen revealed his unique part-time experience.

He was on MBC every1's 'Video Star' on the November 21 episode featuring Brand New Music artists, and shared, "I'm the third generation of Japanese immigrants. My mother couldn't speak Korean when I was young, so I grew up speaking Japanese. I came to Seoul for my dream and stayed in a tiny room. I registered to an employment site for foreigners, and someone contacted me saying I was old enough so I probably knew things."

He continued, "He introduced himself as someone in the sound entertainment and gave me a USB with a video and asked me to translate. In Japan, porn is an industry, you get paid regularly. I translated a 60-minute video in 10 minutes. I did it so fast and got mentally exhausted. But I made an amount you couldn't make by translating for even a month. I decided I shouldn't give up on my dreams."
