Original animated series writer of 'Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade' praises the Korean film remake

According to Warner Bros. Korea, the original Japanese animated series scriptwriter Oshii Mamoru of 'Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade' (1999) praised the Korean live-action film remake after attending its first screening.
Oshii Mamoru said, "It was a film which made me think a lot: a very strong film. The world depicted in the movie and the stories of each character felt real, and the characters were also charming. I was impressed with the fantastic action, the immense scale, the set, and the various spaces, as well as how flexibly director Kim Ji Woon's settings, the combat suits, the weaponry, and the futuristic technology emerged."
He continued, "In the original series, one needed the combat suits in order to tell whether the figure was a human disguised as a wolf, or a wolf pretending to be human. However, in the movie, Kang Dong Won's acting and expressions were enough."
Oshii Mamoru went on to elaborate on the film's underground set, "They cannot make movies like this in Japan. I was wowed by the Hollywood-like set. It must have been difficult to film action scenes of such caliber as well. I was taken back by the action scenes wearing the combat suits, and by how perfectly the emphasis on their red eyes was portrayed."
