The '2018 MBC Plus x Genie Music Awards' launching for the first time ever this year, will be revealing its nominees and launching fan voting next week!
Along with this announcement, the '2018 MBC Plus x Genie Music Awards' (or '2018 MGM') just revealed each of the award categories that K-Pop stars will be competing in, including 4 Daesang (Grand prize) awards. The 4 Daesang categories are: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Bestselling Artist of the Year, and Best Digital Album of the Year.
Other categories include: Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer, Best Male Group, Best Female Group, Best Male Rookie, Best Female Rookie, Discovery of the Year, as well as genre-based categories: Best Male Dance Performance, Best Female Dance Performance, Best Male Vocal Performance, Best Female Vocal Performance, and Best Rap/Hip-Hop Award. Furthermore, Genie Music will be handing out special category awards such as Genie Music Popularity Award, Idol Champ Global Popularity Award, etc!
You can find out the nominees of every category listed above this October 1 through Genie Music's official website, where fan voting also kicks off on the same day. The '2018 MGM' takes place on November 6 at the Incheon Namdong Gymnasium.
