Idol group member accused of sexual assault by bar employee

BY Germaine-Jay · March 29, 2019

According to SBS' '8 O'Clock News', an idol group member has been accused of sexual assault by a bar employee.

On the March 29th episode, reports revealed bar employee B filed charges for sexual assault against idol group member A. Bar employee B stated she got to know the idol at her place of work, and she was assaulted by him at her home in Ilsan in May of 2010. She claims they were both drinking when idol member A stated he would put her to sleep, but made forced sexual advances against her.

She commented, "He said he would help me fall asleep, so I just lay down like that... but in one second," adding that she did reject him. B continued, "He said it would be okay and then grabbed my arm. I felt so ashamed. He had absolutely no respect for me as a human being." When B contacted A for an apology, he simply stated, "Let's go back to being just friends."

B has been undergoing therapy due to the traumatic event, and she decided to come forward to the police after seeing the recent news of celebrities who've committed sexual crimes. She underwent questioning on March 27, and idol A is said to be denying the allegations. Idol A's label stated, "It was a consensual sexual relationship, and there was no coercion. A is currently performing overseas, and he'll undergo police investigations when he returns to Korea."
