Explosion of a transformer ignites a huge fire now spreading though the area of Sokcho, Gangwon-do

Within the evening, a transformer at a local gas station had exploded and ignited a fire in the area of Sokcho,Gangwon-do.

Because of the high winds and dry air, that fire had grown in size and had begun to spread throughout the area. Throughout this horrific ordeal, Arirang posted a video on YouTube explaining the devastation, explaining that at the time that,"There have been no reports of casualties yet, but authorities are on the lookout for possible victims and damages."

However, with much digging on my end, I found a tweet made by the user @2B09076805, who happens to be a local Korean citizen that mentions that there has been in fact 2 causalities since the fire has started.

The user has also updated on the fire stating that 10,000 people are told to evacuate.

Please spread the word and pray for Korea as this fire has taken two lives already. We, the community of Allkpop hope that there will be no more causalities, injuries and hope that everyone stays safe.
