
BTS Jungkook ranks #1 on “Top 100 Most Searched K-pop Idol on Google Worldwide for 2021 (Mid-year chart)” which has been released recently. The data is collected from Google Trends for the period of 2021.01.01 to 2021.06.28.
The chart receives many exposure from media as it is one of the most reliable and transparent tools in measuring popularity for individual K-pop idols.
CNBC Indonesia published an article, declaring Jungkook as the most popular K-pop idol in the world after he is ranked first place on the chart.

Jungkook has been topping the chart for the past 5 years according to Google Trends. He is the most searched K-pop idol on the largest search engine in the world for 5 years now (2017-2021).

Jungkook also proves his domination on Twitter as his blonde selca Tweet is the most retweeted Tweet for 2021 so far (1.18M retweets). Jungkook’s “Duh” Tweet was previously announced by Twitter as #1 most retweeted Tweet in the world for 2019 (which granted him a Guinness World Record), and his “Never Not” Tweet was #2 most retweeted Tweet for 2020. Jungkook’s blonde selca Tweet is also the second most-liked Tweet this year so far, after U.S. president Joe Biden’s.

Jungkook is also the most searched K-pop idol on Youtube. His fanpage on Facebook is the most followed for any K-pop idol with 3.1 million followers. He also ranked first place on Tumblr’s Most Popular K-pop Stars three (3) years in a row (2018-2020). Jungkook’s hashtag on TikTok is the most viewed individual hashtag on the platform history, amounting to 55 billion views! This further proves his unrivalled global popularity and his status as “King of SNS.”
Jungkook is not only popular as a celebrity but his music received the same amount of love too. He’s the longest-charting K-pop idol on Billboard World Digital Song Sales, with “Euphoria” and “My Time” being the #1 and #2 longest-charting K-pop solo songs on the chart (70 and 66 weeks respectively).

Jungkook’s “Euphoria” is also the first K-pop male idol solo song to be eligible for Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Gold certificate for selling over 500,000 units in the U.S. “Euphoria” is also certified Silver by Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), the first BTS solo song to do so.

Jungkook’s Soundcloud release “Still With You” which he produced also receives major love and went viral among non-fans, turning them into K-pop fans. Songs that Jungkook co-composed and wrote; “Film Out,” “Your Eyes Tell,” and “Stay” also broke records and topped the charts, proving his credibility as a top-tier musician.
