This steady increase in the status of rice cakes was attributed to Jimin's global reputation. This is because he has been known for contributing to the increase of tteokbokki and red pepper paste exports after he was often seen eating them.
Jimin, who recently made it to Korean and International news for spearheading the fried chicken noodle challenge among YouTubers, saw their sales jump to 158% in the United States and 33% in China in the third year of 2020. Bloomberg also reported that dumplings had seen an increase in sales overseas after the famous dumpling incident in the song Friends, which is produced by Jimin. After the Dalgona Coffee live broadcast with Jimin, the 'Jimin Coffee' menu was introduced to a cafe in Italy and continues to gain popularity.
BTS Jimin is being lauded for positively impacting the economy of his country by increasing the export of its food, a basic need worldwide. This rightfully places him in the right position as Korea's Frontman.
