Actor Shin Dong Wook opened up about the painful reason behind his hiatus.
According to the January 1st episode of 'Entertainment Relay', Shin Dong Wook was revealed to have complex regional pain syndrome. The actor, who was a rising star in 2008, was diagnosed with CRPS in 2010 and discharged from the military.
He shared, "I was treated with a towel in my mouth because I was afraid I'd scream because it hurt so much while I underwent rehabilitation. I started a long drift for 5 years. I didn't meet people, and I didn't call them. I began to drift thoroughly. I was really lonely."
Shin Dong Wook most recently starred in the SBS drama 'Now, We Are Breaking Up', and he's set to star in the upcoming series 'From Today We'.
