On February 22, AKB48 announced the 20 promoting members for the team's 59th single, which will be released on May 18. The announcement also revealed that the center member of the upcoming single will be Honda Hitomi!
Netizens all over the globe were thrilled to hear the news, as Hitomi has expressed her wishes to someday lead AKB48 as a center member in the past, after rejoining the team.
