Kang Daniel and his company's cafe celebrate the launch of his collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants

The Kang Daniel and SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration officially launched on June 24!

Daniel’s agency KONNECT Entertainment had previously announced on June 23 the SpongeBob collaboration with Paramount Global. This is the first time the SpongeBob brand had an IP collab with a K-pop artist and the first time Kang Daniel partnered with an animated character. The fun and positive worldview of the show is delivered in an exclusive 12-item collection.

Through an MTV Asia interview, Kang Daniel expressed his gratitude: “As DANITY know, really I am a huge fan. I like Patrick Star so much. I am so glad that I have this great opportunity to collaborate and become a successful fan.”

One of the SpongeBob memes Daniel posted on his Instagram seems fitting for the special occasion.

When asked why he loves SpongeBob, longtime fan Daniel replied, “First, they are very cute! And all of the SpongeBob characters are simple and carefree. They all live a simple life. So I think it is really good to watch it without thinking, all the time. I think that’s how I want to live my life.”

MTV asked which song from his first full album ‘The Story’ goes well with SpongeBob. Daniel recommended ‘How We Live’ for its playful content and lyrics. “The attitude towards life seems to be similar.”

Additionally, Cafe De KONNECT is holding an event with character macarons and PINEHOUSE drinks. The cafe was also decorated in celebration.
