Arrest warrants have been requested for singer Nam Tae Hyun and 'Heart Signal' cast member Seo Min Jae, who are suspected of using methamphetamine.
On May 17 KST, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul applied for an arrest warrant for Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
On May 18, at around 10:30AM KST, the court will conduct an interrogation of the suspects before making an arrest. It is known that the police suspect the possibility of the duo destroying evidence.
This suspicion was raised when Seo Min Jae made an SNS post revealing that she and Nam Tae Hyun took methamphetamine in August of last year. At the time, Seo Min Jae revealed that she was in a relationship with Nam Tae Hyun, and posted a message saying, "Nam Tae Hyun and I are drug addicts. There is a syringe in the company cabinet," however she deleted the message the next day stating that "I fought with my boyfriend and I took some medicine because I was so stressed and in a state of losing my mind. That's why I uploaded a post that has nothing to do with the facts."
Accordingly, in September of last year, the police collected the hair and urine of Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae, who were suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act, and requested an appraisal from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (NFS).
Separately, on March 8, Nam Tae Hyun was charged with drunk driving. Nam Tae Hyun opened a car door while drunk on the side of a road in Gangnam, Seoul, and shocked and damaged a taxi passing by. Afterwards, the vehicle was driven for about 20m, and at that time, the blood alcohol level in Nam Tae Hyun was 0.114%, which exceeded the license revocation level (0.08%).
