Starship Entertainment manager criticized for allegedly shifty comments about NewJeans' pictures

A Starship Entertainment manager is under fire for allegedly shifty comments about NewJeans' pictures.

Netizens are alleging a general manager from Starship Entertainment has left negative-seeming comments under NewJeans' Minji and Danielle's pictorials for 'Vogue Korea' and 'W Korea', respectively. The Instagram user "dreamjmj" has since deactivated her account, but netizens are assuming she maintains a higher position at the label as a general manager. She was also found to be a general manager in a photo shoot for MONSTA X' Shownu.

Under the photos of Minji and Danielle, the assumed general manager was seen commenting "hmm" and "hmm hmm." Though they're ambiguous in tone, many netizens are accusing the general manager of being "shady." 

The alleged difference in treatment between the IVE and NewJeans' members have also added to the fire. In another Instagram post about IVE, the same manager left the comment, "You're doing great at everything. Our Rei is doing the best."

One netizen wrote, "This Starship employee is shading NewJeans. This general manager writes, 'Hmm...' to photos of a rookie who debuted less than a year ago. lol. She then follows them to let them know she'll be watching them. lol." The hashtag "#STARSHIPAPOLOGISETONEWJEANS" is also trending on Twitter.
