ATTRAKT's lawsuit against 12 individuals including the three former members of FIFTY FIFTY grows to 13 Billion KRW (9.8 million USD)

Back on December 18, 2023, ATTRAKT, FIFTY FIFTY's agency, filed a lawsuit against a total of 12 individuals, including former members Saena, Aran, and Sio, along with their parents and Ahn Sung Il, the CEO of The Givers. 

The lawsuit involving the girl group Fifty Fifty, which shocked everyone in 2023 as one of the most significant disputes in K-pop history, has now grown into a 13 billion KRW (~9.8 million KRW) lawsuit for damages.

In June 2023, the K-pop group FIFTY FIFTY found themselves embroiled in a contract dispute with their agency, ATTRAKT. The issues at hand included allegations of inadequate accounting practices and a lack of mental health support. Amidst these tensions, member Keena managed to reconcile with ATTRAKT, leaving her bandmates Aran, Sio, and Saena to contend with the possibility of contract termination. This development was particularly striking given that the group, which was formed in 2022, had achieved global recognition with their hit "Cupid" in 2023.

The situation escalated when ATTRAKT leveled accusations of a conspiracy against the remaining members and others, leading to legal proceedings. FIFTY FIFTY attempted to sever their exclusive contracts with ATTRAKT, arguing for their rights to part ways with the agency. However, their efforts were met with a setback in August when the court ruled against their petition for contract termination. Subsequently, it was revealed that Ahn Sung Il and The Givers had orchestrated the group's departure from ATTRAKT by persuading them to pursue legal separation from the label.

Meanwhile, on February 16, The Givers CEO Ahn Sung Il was sent to prosecution for obstruction of justice, destruction of records, and breach of trust in the FIFTY FIFTY poaching case.
