Former B.A.P member Himchan has received a suspended sentence for his third sexual offense case.
On February 1 KST, the Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court (presiding judge Kwon Sung Soo) sentenced Kim Himchan to 3 years of prison, deferred by a probationary period of 5-years, for charges of rape and violations of the Act on Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming or engaging in obscene acts using cameras or communication media).
In addition, the court ordered Himchan to undergo 40 hours of sexual violence treatment classes. He will also be subjected to a 3-year restriction on employment in institutions related to children, youth, and disabled individuals.
Previously, Himchan was accused of sexually assaulting a victim he had invited to his home in May of 2022, filming it illegally, and then sending the explicit content to the victim a month later in June. Prior to this incident, Himchan was also accused of sexually harassing two women while intoxicated outside a bar in Hannam-dong, Seoul in April.
Meanwhile, Himchan had been sentenced to actual imprisonment in an appellate court for the forced sexual assault of a woman in her 20s named 'A' at a pension in Namyang-ju, Gyeonggi-do in July of 2018. After serving a 10-month sentence that ended in December of last year, he was arrested again and brought to trial for additional sexual assault crimes.
