It was recently revealed that singer Insooni passed the high school equivalency exam (similar to a GED) at the age of 67.
On September 9, Insooni shared a post on her Instagram with the caption, "Find out what’s different," along with a screenshot from a portal site showing her updated profile.
Her educational background had changed from "Cheongsan Middle School graduate" to "High School Graduate Equivalency Exam."
It was reported that Insooni took the high school equivalency exam this year and received her passing notification on August 30. She achieved 50 years after dropping out of high school.
Along with the post, she included the hashtag "Courage," which moved netizens, who were inspired by her determination to pursue education at an older age.
Netizens reacted with admiration, saying, "Her spirit of challenge and passion is amazing," "There’s no age limit to learning," "Congratulations," "This makes me feel emotional," "She's so impressive," and "Youth starts now!"
Musical actor Kim Ho Young also commented, "Congratulations! You’re amazing!" sharing in the joy.
Insooni was born in 1957 to a U.S. soldier stationed in Korea and a Korean mother.
It is said that she couldn’t continue attending high school due to financial reasons. Debuting in 1978, Insooni has released numerous hit songs, including "Every Night" and "Father."
