Family of the late Kim Sae Ron reveals KakaoTalk messages between her and Kim Soo Hyun from 2016 + reason for publicizing their relationship

On March 27 at approximately 1:30 PM KST, attorney Boo Ji Suk of Law Firm Buyou appeared at a press conference at Space Share, Gangnam Station, in Seocho-dong, Seoul, representing the bereaved family members of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. 

The attorney delivered a statement as follows.

"Recently, matters related to the private life of the late actress Kim Sae Ron have been exposed indiscriminately through the web almost daily, leading to countless speculations as well as criticism directed at the bereaved family. As a result, the family members are suffering from severe emotional and physical distress.

The reason for today's press conference is to inform the public of the difficulties that the bereaved family members are currently enduring, and to request an end to the criticism against them. This is not an event intended to disclose the reason why the late Kim Sae Ron took her own life. 

The bereaved family initially had no choice but to reveal that Kim Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor. This was because the family had been preparing a lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who had not only spread false information about the late actress, but also belittled and ridiculed her, contributing significantly to her psychological distress.

However, in response, Kim Soo Hyun initially denied ever dating her. Even after further evidence confirmed their relationship, he has not offered a single apology and is now making another false claim that they only dated after she became an adult. Additionally, for reasons unknown, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho and other involved parties have taken it upon themselves to expose matters related to Kim Sae Ron's private life, all the while adding false and baseless claims.

The bereaved family wishes to put an end to this controversy by presenting clear and undeniable evidence. Let me be clear, this press conference is not intended to disclose the reason behind the late Kim Sae Ron’s passing. Furthermore, after today’s press conference, the bereaved family does not wish to engage in any further meaningless disputes over the truth. What Kim Sae Ron's family wishes first and foremost as of now is to pursue legal action against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho and to correct the lies and misinformation."

Next, the attorney proceeded to reveal a series of KakaoTalk messages exchanged between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun, dated June 24, 2016. The attorney claimed that these messages were proof that the two actors dated while Kim Sae Ron was still a minor. 

Kim Sae Ron: I completely gave up my morning and night for sleep.. Isn't it crazy. And I went to the hospital for a booster TT.

Kim Soo Hyun: You body must not have been in good condition TTTTTT How are you feeling now?

KSH: Are you filming again.. TTTT

KSH: I'm worried TT

KSR: Back to filming TT

KSR: I'll be right back

KSH: Hurry back.. hehe

KSR: Smooch

KSH: Give me one for real later.. hehe

KSH: Is this banned too?.. TT

KSR: No it's not banned ha

KSR: Do you miss me or not

KSH: You?

KSH: Do you think I miss you

KSH: Or not

KSR: I don't know! I won't know unless you tell me

KSR: I won't know a single thing

KSH: You're cute, asking me that

KSR: So do you miss me or not

KSH: I miss you, I really miss you

KSR: *More*

KSH: I miss you hehehe

KSR: You won't budge will you

Regarding the KakaoTalk messages, attorney Boo claimed, "These conversations suggest that Kim Soo Hyun may be demanding more than just a good night's rest. Furthermore, if these messages are not proof that they were dating during this time, then what is? Kim Sae Ron was 17 years old at the time."

Lastly, attorney Boo revealed a letter written that the Kim Sae Ron wrote to Kim Soo Hyun some time before her passing. 

"Hi, it's Ronnie. How are you?

I'm writing in the hopes of resolving some of the misunderstandings between us. I can't get in contact with anyone at the company, and I was afraid of the lawsuit. That's why I uploaded the photo. I'm sorry. I did it so someone from the company would contact me. I'm sorry that I got you involved. 

In truth, I'm scared of the people at Gold Medalist. I find them uncomfortable. I can't seem to get in touch with anyone now that I've left the company. I don't want to be a nuisance to you. I genuinely want you to be happy. I didn't realize it but we dated for 5-6 years. You were my first and last love. Because you're important to me in that way, I don't want you to avoid me. When I think that you want nothing to do with me, it feels like all the time that we spent together was for nothing. Let's just stay friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Just two people who cheer each other on. We can do that, right? Do you really hate me? Why? If this letter doesn't reach you, I'm afraid that it will really be the end for us. That would make me very sad.

I promise I won't get in your way anymore. So please don't hate me. I hope that one day, we can face each other with a smile.

There was no other way for me to get my feelings across to you, so I'm praying that your address is the same. I hope that you'll be the one to read this, and not [unclear]. Meanwhile, representatives of the YouTube channel HOVERLAB, who also attended the press conference on this day, hinted at additional photo and video evidence to be disclosed during a live broadcast at 7 PM KST.
