A Taiwanese media outlet has accused Saram Entertainment of overworking actor Lee Soo Hyuk during a 12-hour fan meeting in Hangzhou, China.
In a recent article, Taiwanese media outlet EBC claimed, "The agency sold an excessive number of tickets so that Lee Soo Hyuk had to sign autographs for several thousand fans over the course of 12-hours."
The media outlet added on that the actor was drenched in sweat by the end of the event due to the venue's poor air conditioning, even showing signs of dehydration and staggering.
When distressed fans demanded an explanation, Saram Entertainment revealed on September 3 KST,
"Hello, this is Saram Entertainment.
First and foremost, we sincerely thank all fans who showed an interest in 'Lee Soo Hyuk 1st Fan Meeting in Hangzhou'.
We believe that every moment shared by fans and the artist is a special and precious moment. Therefore, we deeply regret the situation which occurred during the fan meeting as a result of unforeseen circumstances. In light of these events, we promise to do our best so that we may proceed toward improvement in the future.
It is our biggest hope that the sincerity of the artist, who did his best despite the circumstances, and the fans, who attended out of love for the artist, will not be lost because of these developments. We wish for the time spent between the artist and fans, meeting for the first time in over 10 years, to remain cherished memories.
Once again, we will ensure that conditions will improve by the next meeting by working closely with affiliates.
Finally, we would like to thank all collaborators and staff for working hard to make this fan meeting possible.
Cherishing the hearts of fans who not only attended the fan meeting, but who also cheer on Lee Soo Hyuk from near and far, we will continue to support the actor in his activities.
