The 'Melon Music Awards 2025' have officially commenced, with winners being announced live as the ceremony unfolds. As one of South Korea’s most prestigious annual music award ceremonies, the event honors the artists, albums, and songs that demonstrated exceptional performance and influence on the Melon platform over the past year.
Earlier this year, Melon unveiled the full list of nominees for the 2025 awards, including those competing in the highly coveted Daesang (Grand Prize) categories. G-Dragon, Jennie, Rosé, IVE, and PLAVE emerged as the most-nominated acts of the year, earning five nominations each. SEVENTEEN, IU, BABYMONSTER, and TXT also secured multiple nominations across major categories, highlighting the competitiveness of this year’s awards.
The eligibility period for the 'Melon Music Awards 2025' spans from October 31, 2024, to November 19, 2025, reflecting a full year of digital performance data accumulated on the Melon platform. Melon also disclosed the official evaluation criteria used to determine the winners. With the exception of the Millions Top 10 and Track Zero Choice categories, most awards are decided through a weighted system consisting of 60 percent digital performance (streaming and downloads), 20 percent expert judges’ evaluations, and 20 percent fan voting. The Millions Top 10 category places greater emphasis on platform performance, with 80 percent of the score based on streaming and downloads and 20 percent on fan votes.
Fan voting opened on December 5 and concluded on December 19, allowing listeners to actively participate in the final selection process. The ceremony is being held on December 20 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Confirmed performers include G-Dragon, ILLIT, and Hearts2Hearts, with additional special stages scheduled throughout the evening.
