Nam Bo Ra reveals she discovered abnormal cervical cells before marriage “Pregnancy after recovering from surgery”

Actress Nam Bo Ra candidly shared the health issue she faced while preparing for pregnancy.

On March 5, Nam Bo Ra uploaded a video titled 'Nam Bo Ra Pregnancy Q&A – Succeeded After Just Two Tries?! Make Sure You Prepare This' on her YouTube channel Nam Bo Ra’s Life Theater. In the video, she talked openly about her pregnancy journey and the challenges she experienced along the way.

During the video, she revealed that she became pregnant just two months after starting to try. “A lot of people told me it happened really quickly,” she said. Nam Bo Ra explained that she decided to get a health checkup before getting married because she hoped to have a child relatively soon after her wedding. “I wanted to check my health in advance,” she said.

However, during the checkup, doctors found abnormal cervical cells that could potentially develop into cervical cancer. Although she was not diagnosed with cervical cancer, she needed to undergo surgery to remove the abnormal cells. “I suddenly had to have surgery,” she shared. “Last March, I had a procedure to remove the abnormal cells, and it took about two months for me to fully recover.”

After spending some time enjoying newlywed life, she later visited an obstetrics and gynecology clinic to begin preparing for pregnancy. She explained that she took antibody tests and made various efforts to stay healthy, including consistently taking nutritional supplements.

Meanwhile, Nam Bo Ra previously announced her pregnancy last December through the TV show 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun‑Staurant' on Korean Broadcasting System’s KBS 2TV. At the time, she revealed that she was five weeks pregnant and also shared a traditional taemong (conception dream) about a stingray, which attracted public attention.

Nam Bo Ra married a non-celebrity businessman of the same age in May 2025. The couple is now expecting their first child, a son, who is due in June.
