From BLACKPINK to BIGBANG: Legendary YG Groups that Took Coachella by Storm

BY Rika-go · April 23, 2026

Coachella 2026 wrapped up on a high note, delivering unforgettable performances from global superstars including the legendary YG boy group BIGBANG. Known for their signature “swag,” explosive stage presence, and genre-defying performances, YG artists have long been considered perfect for the desert festival’s high-energy atmosphere. This year, with the long-awaited appearance of BIGBANG, fans and netizens flooded social media, pointing out the fact that every legendary YG group has now conquered Coachella, each leaving behind iconic, culture-shifting moments.

Let’s dive into the powerhouse YG groups turned Coachella into their own concert stage.

BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK first took Coachella by storm in 2019, becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at the festival. From the opening beats of “Kill This Love” to the explosive energy of “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “As If It’s Your Last,” the group delivered a performance that instantly captured global attention. Jennie also showcased her star power with her solo hit “Solo,” further elevating the stage.

In 2023, BLACKPINK returned not just as performers but as headliners, making history as the first Asian act to headline Coachella. Their set featured massive hits like “Pink Venom,” “How You Like That,” and “Kill This Love,” alongside individual solo stages from all four members.

Their headlining performance wasn’t just a milestone. It cemented BLACKPINK’s global dominance and proved that K-pop could command one of the biggest music festivals in the world.

2NE1

In 2022, 2NE1 delivered one of the most unforgettable moments in Coachella history. Technically, CL was booked as a solo artist for the 88rising "Head in the Clouds Forever" set. But in a move that remains one of the most shocking surprises in festival history, she brought out Park Bom, Dara, and Minzy.

After CL finished her solo set, the lights went down, and the iconic opening notes of "I Am The Best” echoed through the venue. Fans were stunned to see other members joining CL on stage, marking 2NE1’s first performance together in over six years. The crowd erupted, social media exploded, and the performance quickly became one of the most iconic Coachella moments ever.

BIGBANG

BIGBANG was originally scheduled to perform at Coachella 2020, but unfortunately, the event was canceled due to the global pandemic. The ‘Kings of K-pop’ finally made their triumphant return to the festival in 2026.

On April 16 and 19, members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung delivered a power-packed 60-minute set that turned the Outdoor Theatre into their personal concert arena. From explosive anthems like “Bang Bang Bang” and “Fantastic Baby” to emotional classics like “Haru Haru” and “Still Life,” the trio showcased their unmatched artistry. Their solo stages include “Power,” “Ringa Linga,” and Daesung’s trot hit “Look at Me, Gwisun,” which added even more variety and flair to the performance.

During their April 19 set, G-Dragon officially announced their 20th-anniversary world tour, making Coachella the launching pad for their new era.

From BLACKPINK’s history-making headlining set to 2NE1’s jaw-dropping reunion and BIGBANG’s long-awaited, triumphant debut, YG Entertainment artists have consistently delivered some of the most iconic moments in Coachella history.
