Girl group mimiirose announces disbandment ahead of 4th anniversary

The girl group mimiirose officially disbanded ahead of its fourth debut anniversary.

Member Yewon (real name Kim Yewon) shared the news on April 16 via her personal social media account, announcing that the group had decided to go their separate ways after extensive discussions.

“We have decided, after long deliberation, to walk our own paths,” Yewon wrote. “We are leaving our agency and standing at a new starting point as individuals rather than a team. We sincerely apologise, as we know how deeply this news may hurt those who have always given us overwhelming love.”

She continued by expressing her gratitude and sorrow toward fans: “The first thing I wanted to say to the fans who believed in and waited for us was ‘thank you,’ but today I am delivering heavier news, and it breaks my heart.”

Reflecting on her time with the group, she added, “The moments we shared on stage while chasing our dreams, and the eyes and voices of bloomii (our fandom), were the happiest moments of my life. Although our journey as mimiirose ends here, the memories we created will never disappear.”

Yewon concluded by thanking supporters and promising future growth: “Thank you sincerely for staying by our side. We will work to return as more resilient individuals in our own places. Please continue to warmly watch over our new beginnings.”

The group was originally produced by singer-producer Lim Chang Jung, which drew significant public attention at debut. However, the group later faced instability after Im became embroiled in allegations related to stock manipulation, eventually leading to a management change and a move to Pocket7 Entertainment.

Despite attempting a fresh start under new management, mimiirose has now come to an end in less than two years since their relaunch, marking an abrupt conclusion to the group’s journey.
