Hyomin visits a sick fan, brings homemade cake, and donates her appearance fee from 'Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant'

On April 17, Hyomin posted a long message on her social media account that began, “Thanks to a kind-hearted social worker, I was able to meet Kyumin through a precious connection.”

In the photos released together, Hyomin is seen visiting a fan directly at the hospital. This came after a message sent to Hyomin by a social worker. 

In the message, the social worker explained that the friend Hyomin met this time is a “big fan of T-ara who has mastered all of T-ara’s songs and choreography,” and that Hyomin is her “favorite member.” The social worker added that even after becoming ill, she finds comfort in watching T-ara’s past performances repeatedly in her hospital room.

The social worker also shared, “Kyumin’s birthday is March 31, but due to her current medical condition, she is unable to go outside the hospital and is feeling very frustrated,” and carefully asked, “If possible, could we receive a short video message of support from Hyomin?”

In response, Hyomin personally visited the hospital room. She said, “I went early in the morning to buy kumquats after hearing it was her recent birthday and made a small kumquat cake for her.” She added, “As I made eye contact and talked with her in person, I felt I wanted to express this feeling even more,” and revealed, “Although it is small, I also delivered all of my appearance fee from the program 'Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant’ to the hospital.”

What was originally a simple request for a message of encouragement turned into Hyomin’s direct visit to the hospital, followed by a donation, moving many people.

Meanwhile, Hyomin held a private wedding last April with a non-celebrity working in finance. Her husband is 10 years older than her and is known to be a managing director at a global private equity firm and a graduate of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University.

“Thanks to a kind-hearted social worker, I was able to meet Kyumin through a precious connection.

She loves T-ara’s songs the most, and our videos were filled throughout her playlist, which she would play whenever she was having a hard time. Although I went there to offer encouragement, I was the one who received even greater comfort and strength from the moment.

After hearing that it was recently her birthday, I went early in the morning to buy kumquats and made a small kumquat cake for her.

As I made eye contact and talked with her in person, I wanted to express this feeling even more, and although it is small, I delivered all of my appearance fee from ‘Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant’ to the hospital. This moment has remained very meaningful to me, and I think it will allow me to approach my work with a stronger heart once again.

I am sharing this moment carefully with the consent of her parents. Isn’t she so lovely? A warm word of encouragement from all of you will be a great strength to Kyumin. I also send my respect to the pediatric medical staff and social workers who always stay by the children’s side.

I hope to encounter more precious connections and moments like this in the future, and on this beautiful spring day, I hope everyone has warmer days ahead.”
