Japan is set to transform into a massive stage for K-pop as top artists converge for an unprecedented concert weekend.
From April 25 to 26, leading groups including TVXQ, TWICE, aespa, and DAY6 will simultaneously take over major venues across Japan, drawing an estimated combined audience of over 420,000 in just two days.
TVXQ will perform at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, meeting 150,000 fans over two days. TWICE is set to make history as the first overseas artist to perform at Japan’s National Stadium, attracting 160,000 attendees across the same weekend. Meanwhile, aespa will hold concerts at Tokyo Dome for approximately 94,000 fans, while DAY6 will take the stage at Keio Arena Tokyo, welcoming around 20,000 attendees.

This large-scale phenomenon reflects each group’s unique appeal and long-established presence. TVXQ’s enduring popularity stems from deep localization and polished live performances, while TWICE continues to resonate with Japanese audiences through their relatable image and positive energy. aespa’s distinctive concept and strong storytelling have particularly captured the attention of Gen Z fans, and DAY6’s band-driven sound has built a steady global following.

The momentum extends beyond this weekend. BTS recently held concerts at Tokyo Dome, while 2PM is scheduled to celebrate its 15th anniversary with upcoming shows at the same venue.
A key factor behind this “super weekend” is Japan’s robust concert infrastructure. As the world’s second-largest music market according to IFPI, Japan offers a well-developed ecosystem of venues ranging from halls to stadiums, enabling multiple large-scale events to run simultaneously without conflict—even alongside major domestic acts like Arashi.
The scale of these events highlights a growing challenge for South Korea, where large-capacity venues remain limited. As K-pop’s global fanbase continues to expand, the need for stronger infrastructure to support mega-scale concerts is becoming increasingly evident.
