Kang Mi Na Returns to Horror With Netflix Series ‘If Wishes Could Kill,’ Shifts Focus to Acting Over I.O.I Activities

Actress Kang Mi Na is turning her attention fully to acting, putting behind her any lingering disappointment over not participating in I.O.I activities.

Kang Mi Na will greet viewers as Lim Na Ri, a “young, rich, and pretty” character, in Netflix’s 'If Wishes Could Kill,' set to premiere on April 24.

Lim Na Ri, portrayed by Kang Mi Na, is a standout figure who grew up in a wealthy environment and draws attention wherever she goes with her idol-like visuals. In the series, she does not believe in the curse of the mysterious app “Girigo,” which supposedly grants wishes when users write down their fortune and name.

Kang Mi Na previously took on the horror genre through the “Convenience Store” episode of the 2022 seezn original omnibus 'Midnight Horror: Six Nights.' About four years later, she returns to horror once again with Girigo.

“I changed my hairstyle from the short cut I had for years to long, straight hair to create a visual transformation,” Kang Mi Na said. “Although I usually can’t watch horror, I kept watching it during filming to build up my courage.”

A representative added, “Through Netflix’s 'If Wishes Could Kill,' Kang Mi Na is expected to showcase the experience she has built across various projects, along with a deeper emotional range,” raising anticipation for her performance.
