Actress Kang Mi Na revealed that she underwent a significant weight loss transformation for her upcoming project.
On April 29, an interview with Kang Mi Na took place at a café in Jongno District, Seoul, where she spoke about her role in the Netflix series 'If Wishes Could Kill.'
“I recently lost about 13 kilograms,” she shared. “After finishing 'If Wishes Could Kill,' I gradually lost the weight while preparing for my next project. It took about two to three months, and I have been maintaining it since.”
She added with a laugh, “Interestingly, I did not have much of an appetite at the time. I just want to clarify in case of any misunderstanding. I did not use any diet injections.”
Kang Mi Na went on to describe her diet routine. “I would order a 15cm Subway sandwich, cut it in half, and eat one half for lunch and the other half for dinner. When I got tired of that, I would switch to salads or diet wraps. And when it got really tough, I would order spicy tteokbokki from Yupdduk. That is how I managed to get through it.”
When asked what project motivated her weight loss, she replied, “It was for the drama 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' There is a swimsuit scene, so I paid extra attention to my fitness.” She confirmed that the scene had already been filmed, adding confidently, “It turned out well,” while giving a thumbs-up.
With a playful tone, she added, “If there were an app like in 'If Wishes Could Kill' that grants wishes, I would want a pill that lets you eat as much as you want without gaining weight.”
Released on April 24, 'If Wishes Could Kill' follows the story of high school students who are suddenly marked for death by a cursed wish-granting application called Kirigo, and their desperate struggle to escape their fate.
