LUCY cancels light stick after fan backlash

LUCY has canceled plans to produce an official light stick following negative reactions from fans.

On April 22 KST, the group’s agency Mystic Story released a statement through its official channels, announcing that the project would be halted after internal review. The agency said it took the feedback from various platforms seriously and decided to cancel the production.

They also issued an apology, acknowledging the confusion caused and promising to work harder to meet fans’ expectations moving forward.

Previously, the agency had revealed the design of the light stick, which drew attention for its unusual bone-like shape. The concept was believed to be inspired by the group’s fandom name, “Walwal,” but quickly sparked mixed to negative reactions among fans.

As criticism grew, the project was ultimately scrapped.

Following the announcement, the members also expressed their apologies through a fan communication platform, admitting they had not realized the extent of the negative response and promising to be more attentive in the future.
