Netflix has officially announced the production of a new Korean drama, drawing attention with its high-profile cast and provocative premise. The upcoming series 'Love Affair' will star Lee Dong Wook, Jeon So Nee, Jung Yoo Mi, and Lee Jong Won.

On April 16, Netflix confirmed the series alongside the cast reveal, marking the beginning of production with its first script reading. The drama follows a chance encounter in a foreign destination that spirals into a story shaking the lives of four individuals. It is expected to explore taboo emotions and fractured relationships with intensity and depth.

'Love Affair' begins with two people who share an unforgettable night in an unfamiliar place. Ji Hoon (Lee Dong Wook) and Hu Kyung (Jeon So Nee) meet by chance while traveling and spend a day together, only to return to Korea and become entangled once again. The series will focus on how their emotions evolve at the intersection of desire, choice, and emotional conflict.

The project is directed by Mo Wan Il, known for his detailed portrayal of human psychology and tension in works such as 'The World of the Married' and 'The Frog.' The script is written by Ha Soo Jin, who previously worked on 'The Matchmakers' and 'Sell Your Haunted House.' Their collaboration is already being highlighted as a strong combination capable of delivering a nuanced emotional narrative.

Lee Dong Wook takes on the role of Ji Hoon, a man caught between rational judgment and emotional turmoil. Widely recognized for his refined performances in melodramas, he is set to undergo a striking transformation as a character navigating forbidden boundaries.

Jeon So Nee plays Hu Kyung, a mysterious figure who becomes deeply involved with Ji Hoon after their chance meeting en route to Madrid, Spain. Unable to let go of her feelings, she returns to Korea, placing herself at the center of a bold and complicated love story. She previously made a strong impression in the Netflix series Parasyte: The Grey, raising anticipation for her next performance.

Jung Yoo Mi stars as Sun Hee, Ji Hoon’s wife, who faces the shocking truth behind the tangled relationships and experiences a complex emotional journey. Known for her charming presence in projects such as Discovery of Love, she has steadily expanded her acting range through works like 'Kim Ji Young, Born 1982' and 'The School Nurse Files.' This drama is expected to showcase a deeper, more intense side of her acting.

Lee Jong Won plays Dae Hee, Sun Hee’s younger brother, who becomes unexpectedly entangled with Hu Kyung. Having built a solid filmography across genres with projects like 'Knight Flower' and 'Bad Memory Eraser,' he continues to expand his presence, most recently appearing in the horror film 'Salmokji.'

With its casting now confirmed and script reading underway, Love Affair is already generating buzz over how the four leads will portray intersecting relationships and emotional conflicts. The series is set to be released on Netflix at a later date.
