NEXZ’s Tomoya directs unique teaser ahead of ‘Mmchk’ comeback

Group NEXZ has unveiled teaser content planned by leader Tomoya ahead of their comeback in five days.

JYP Entertainment boy group NEXZ will release their second single ‘Mmchk’ on April 27 and join the spring 2026 comeback lineup with the title track of the same name. Ahead of the release, the group heated up fan anticipation by posting Tomoya directed teaser video ‘NEXZ ‘Mmchk’ : 100 Mmchk Moments (Directed by Tomoya)’ on its official social media channels on April 22.

The video follows a day in the lives of all seven NEXZ members. Waking up to an alarm, Tomoya stretches with an “Mm~” and says, “Today, I’m going to capture 100 Mmchk moments from the members,” counting both the sound of his stretch and the sound of him clearing his voice.

He then excitedly clicks a counter every time he discovers an “Mm” sound made by Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hui, and Yuki in their daily routines. Whether drinking coffee, brushing their teeth, choosing clothes, or even stubbing a toe on furniture, an “Mm!” naturally slips out and Tomoya’s counter keeps climbing. The sound appears while they debate what to eat, stuff their mouths with food, and even in the vibration of a ringing phone. In NEXZ’s everyday life, everything becomes part of “Mm.” When the members turn on the new song ‘Mmchk’ and perform, the counter starts spinning rapidly whenever “Mmchk” appears in the lyrics.

Tomoya has previously taken part in planning and presenting various content including the B side music video for debut track ‘Ride the Vibe,’ the B side music video for first mini album track ‘Eye to Eye,’ and teaser content for second mini album ‘O RLY?’ and third mini album ‘Beatboxer.’ With this latest release, he once again showcases fresh content shaped through his own unique perspective, further proving himself to be an all around member who excels in vocals, performance, visuals, leadership, planning, and production.

Armed with powerful addictive appeal, comeback track ‘Mmchk’ is expected to slip into music fans’ daily lives from 6 p.m. on April 27, much like the constant “Mm~” sounds heard throughout NEXZ’s day.
