Ong Seong Wu is set to return to the small screen.
Ong has been cast in tvN’s upcoming drama 'My Chilling Romance' (directed by Lee Min Soo, written by Choi Jung Mi), where he will take on the role of Kang Min Hwan, the CEO of a hotel.
'My Chilling Romance' is an occult romantic comedy that follows a chaebol heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who is terrified of them. The series is based on the film of the same name. Park Eun Bin will play Cheon Yeo Ri, the ghost-seeing heiress, while Yang Se Jong stars as Ma Kang Wook, the hot-blooded prosecutor. Ong’s addition is expected to further enrich the story.
Ong’s character Kang Min Hwan is the head of CL Raymond Hotel, an affiliate of the CL Group. As the heir to the hotel and resort conglomerate, he is portrayed as a man who has it all—intelligence, striking looks, eloquence, a rational personality, impeccable manners, and natural talent. While he appears to be a cold, calculating businessman on the outside, he shows a warm and caring side exclusively toward Cheon Yeo Ri. Unlike the original film, Kang Min Hwan is a character created specifically for the drama adaptation.
The production team shared, “Kang Min Hwan is an original character not seen in the film, and he will bring a unique sense of tension between Cheon Yeo Ri and Ma Kang Wook. We hope viewers will look forward to Ong Seong Wu’s new transformation as he fully immerses himself in the role and builds the character’s narrative in his own distinct way.”
The drama is scheduled to air in the second half of the year.
Meanwhile, Ong recently reunited with his fellow members from Wanna One and is also set to appear in a reality program, signaling a more active slate of activities moving forward.
