RIIZE’s Shotaro and aespa’s Giselle spotted together at a star-studded event, rekindling dating rumors online

BY Demian09 · April 30, 2026

RIIZE member Shotaro and aespa member Giselle have been spotted at the same private event just three months after both idols publicly denied dating rumors, sparking renewed online discussion.

On April 29, graphic artist brand VERDY shared photos via its official social media accounts from the opening party of its domestic solo exhibition 'I Believe in Me.' Among the attendees were Shotaro and Giselle, whose appearance in the same venue quickly drew attention from fans and online communities.

The event reportedly hosted more than ten celebrities, including G-Dragon, CL, actor Park Seo Joon, and music producer Code Kunst, highlighting its status as a high-profile gathering within the entertainment industry.

Despite the group setting, some netizens have focused on the proximity of Shotaro and Giselle in the released images, leading to renewed speculation about a possible romantic relationship. Comments online have included interpretations such as questioning why the two appear to be highlighted among a larger group and suggesting that their joint appearance after earlier denials feels “meaningful.” However, neither SM Entertainment nor the artists involved have made any new statements regarding the renewed rumors.

Previously, Shotaro directly addressed dating speculation during a Weverse Live broadcast on January 29, firmly denying any romantic involvement with Giselle. He stated that they are “not in that kind of relationship,” describing Giselle as a fellow labelmate and close friend, and added that he was responding to avoid potential discomfort among fans.

Shortly after, Giselle attracted further attention when she posted casual photos on social media in early February, which coincided with heightened public interest in the earlier rumors.

Both Shotaro and Giselle were born in 2000 and share Japanese nationality, as well as being signed under SM Entertainment. Shotaro debuted with NCT in 2020 before re-debuting as a member of RIIZE in 2023, while Giselle debuted in 2020 as part of aespa.

As of now, the renewed speculation remains unconfirmed and is based solely on online interpretations of their appearance at the same event.
