Seo In Young admits spending entire 10 billion KRW (about 6.8 million USD) fortune on shopping “I had no sense back then”

Singer Seo In Young candidly revealed that she spent her entire fortune of 10 billion KRW (about 6.8 million USD) on shopping during the peak of her career.

On April 18, the official account of tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' shared a preview clip titled, 'Seo In Young at the height of her ‘Cinderella’ era did she really spend 10 billion KRW (about 6.8 million USD) filling an emotional void through shopping?.'

In the video, Seo reflected on her past behavior, saying, “Looking back, I think I was emotionally poor. When I went shopping, I wouldn’t even try clothes on. I would just say, ‘I’ll take everything from here to here,’ based on something I had seen.”

When host Yoo Jae Suk reacted in surprise, she added, “You can even see it in the "Cinderella" music video I’m swiping my card nonstop. That was my real self.”

Seo continued, “Money felt insignificant to me. I thought I would keep earning forever.” She then recalled a conversation with her father: “He showed me the records and said, ‘You earned 10 billion KRW (about 6.8 million USD) after taxes.’ I asked, ‘Where did all that money go?’ and he said, ‘You spent it all.’”

She expressed deep regret, saying, “I really had no sense back then. My father told me that if I had invested that money, I could have bought three buildings at the time. I couldn’t believe how immature I had been.”
