Actress Yeom Hye Ran shared a warm reunion with her on-screen daughter from 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' drawing attention with their affectionate two-shot.
On April 15, the mother of child actress Kim Tae Yeon posted a photo on social media along with the message, “I really enjoyed actress Yeom Hye Ran’s film 'My Name'.” The image captured a sweet moment between Kim Tae Yeon and Yeom Hye Ran. It appears Kim Tae Yeon attended the VIP premiere of 'My Name' at Yeom Hye Ran’s invitation.
Born in 2011, Kim Tae Yeon played the young Ae Soon in the Netflix drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' where she portrayed a mother-daughter relationship with Yum Hye Ran.
Now noticeably more grown up compared to her time in the drama, Kim Tae Yeon reunited with Yeom Hye Ran, and the two leaned their heads together while smiling brightly, still exuding the same close, mother-daughter-like bond.
Kim Tae Yeon’s mother also shared her thoughts on the film, writing, “I will remember the tragic history of the Jeju 4.3 Incident, which I did not fully know about before. My condolences to the victims and their families.” She added, “Even after the film ended, I felt so heavy-hearted that I couldn’t get up from my seat easily.”
She continued, “I highly recommend watching it at least once. I was once again deeply moved by Yeom Hye Ran’s performance,” expressing admiration for the actress.
Meanwhile, in 'My Name', Yeom Hye Ran plays Jung Soon, a mother seeking to recover memories lost during the Jeju 4.3 Incident in 1949. Released on April 15, the film tells the story of 18-year-old Yeong Ok (Shin Woo Bin), who is insecure about his feminine name, and his mother Jung Soon, who strives to protect it.
