YG Entertainment reveals details of new boy group and reveals third member of upcoming girl group

YG Entertainment has revealed further details of the upcoming promotions and plans in the coming months.

On April 29, YG Entertainment released another YG Studio video where Yang Hyun Suk sat down to give a breakdown of the label's plans in May and June.

According to the latest video, BABYMONSTER will release the mini album ‘CHOOM’ in early May. In the video, Yang explained some of the tracks that will be included in the group's upcoming album. He elaborated, "Since the title is 'CHOOM (Dance),' I kept thinking to myself that 'the choreography had to be incredible.' While creating this choreo, we went through a lot of ups and downs. We worked with several choreographers to put the choreography together."

He also introduced the track "I LIKE IT," and explained, "I'd say 'I LIKE IT' is the fastest and most exciting song on this album. I'd love for you to think of this as a track where you can just go wild with BABYMONSTER at a concert." He also gave his take on the track "LOCKED IN," stating, "This is the only slow song on this album. Since BABYMONSTER has such a solid foundation in their vocal skills, I found myself being a huge fan of 'SUPA DUPA LUV' on their last album as well. 'LOCKED IN' is another track on this album that I've really grown to love."

Yang Hyun Suk also gave an update on TREASURE's 2026 new album release. He explained that TREASURE is a group that has a special place in his heart because they are a group that faced much hardship during their debut. He explained, "Right as we were about to debut them, the pandemic hit. At such a critical time... And for nearly three years, this shut us out of the global market. This made promoting albums incredibly difficult." He added, "On top of that, I was dealing with a lot of personal upheaval at the time. It has always weighed on me that I wasn't able to do my best for TREASURE's albums." Yang Hyun Suk revealed that TREASURE's upcoming album is his favorite and has shown his sincerity in hopes that TREASURE can begin a new chapter "under clear skies," for the promotions ahead. According to the latest update, TREASURE is gearing up for the album release on June 1.

Additionally, Yang Hyun Suk revealed that the new boy group YG Entertainment is preparing is expected to be revealed in September. He revealed that the group will include five members.

Lastly, YG Entertainment unveiled an introduction video for the third member of its upcoming girl group. In the clip, the trainee delivers a cover of Adele’s “When We Were Young,” showcasing her vocal tone and emotional depth.

Following Evelli and Chanya—previously introduced as part of YG’s new girl group project NEXT MONSTER—Kayci has now been revealed as the third member. At just 13 years old, she impressed with a performance that highlighted remarkable maturity and strong vocal capacity.
