Rapper BewhY officially announced the closure of his label, Dejavu Group, bringing a nine-year journey to an end.
On May 1, BewhY shared a lengthy and emotional statement on his social media, revealing his decision. In the post, he wrote, “I have failed,” confirming that he will step away from running the label. He added, “I have come to clearly understand my limitations and have decided to let go of the things I was once attached to,” and stated, “All responsibility lies entirely with me.”
BewhY first rose to fame after winning 'Show Me the Money 5,' a milestone that established him as one of Korea’s leading hip-hop artists. In 2017, he founded his one-man agency, Dejavu Group, which expanded into a hip-hop label in 2019, signing and supporting several talented artists.
"Hello, this is BewhY.
It has already been 10 years since I started making music and rapping. During that time, I moved forward without doubt, believing that I could achieve anything. Even when I had nothing, I stood before you with that belief alone, and eventually, I experienced success.
That experience gave me confidence and led me to believe that every direction I chose was always right. However, life did not unfold the way I expected.
My business, relationships, and even my inner faith all developed in ways very different from what I had envisioned. My mistakes and shortcomings increased, and I did not want to acknowledge them. The moment I did, I would have had to face the fact that my choices were foolish and wrong, and I was afraid that the word “failure” would follow me.
But now, I will face it. I have failed.
I have come to clearly understand my limitations and have decided to let go of the things I was once attached to. I am ending the activities of my label, Dejavu Group, which I founded in 2017. This decision was not made lightly, and all responsibility lies entirely with me. I would also like to thank the artists who trusted and worked with me.
I sincerely thank everyone who has supported and followed Dejavu Group, and I also offer my deepest apologies."
