BIBI says Jang Kiha receives all royalties from “Bam Yang Gang”

BIBI has revealed that despite the massive popularity of her hit song ‘Bam Yang Gang’, the track that has brought her the most royalty income is actually ‘BIBI Vengeance’.

On May 19, a video titled “We Recreated the Food of the Gods Requested by BIBI” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Bab Eunyoung.”

In the video, BIBI and chef Park Eun Young recreated the mysterious rice cake from movie ‘Spirited Away’ that turns people into pigs when eaten.

During their conversation, Park asked BIBI how royalties work for a mega-hit song like “Bam Yang Gang.” BIBI replied, “The royalties don’t come to me. They all go to songwriter Jang Kiha. Oppa is taking all of it.”

Park jokingly responded, “Then at least ask him to buy you some meat,” drawing laughter.

When asked which song has been her biggest “royalty earner,” BIBI chose “BIBI Vengeance.”

She explained, “In reality, ‘BIBI Vengeance’ is a bigger money-maker than ‘Bam Yang Gang.’ It achieved a level of success that can’t really be compared,” adding, “The royalties from ‘BIBI Vengeance’ all go directly to me.”

The singer also talked about her upcoming release, revealing that the track was actually written eight years ago.

“I tried singing it once, and the fans really liked it, so I decided to release it,” she said.

BIBI further explained the meaning behind the title of her new song, ‘BUMPA’.

“It’s Jamaican slang for ‘butt,’” she said. “I became obsessed with the word ‘BUMPA’ while thinking about the chorus, and I felt like I had to use it somehow in the song.”
