Netflix released the first poster and teaser for its upcoming psychological thriller series 'Notes From the Last Row.'
The drama follows Heo Mun Oh, played by Choi Min Shik, a former writer who has not published any new work for 20 years and is now working as a Korean literature professor. His life changes when he discovers the exceptional writing talent of Lee Kang, played by Choi Hyun Wook, a student who always sits in the last row of his classroom. What begins as recognition of talent gradually develops into an intense obsession as Heo Mun Oh becomes increasingly drawn to Lee Kang’s writing.
The newly released poster builds a tense atmosphere by emphasizing the contrast between the two characters. Heo Mun Oh appears shaken and overwhelmed, while Lee Kang is portrayed with a cold and detached expression. Torn fragments of written sentences across the visual further hint at hidden meaning within their private literature lessons, increasing curiosity about their relationship.
In the teaser, Heo Mun Oh is shown regaining his passion for writing after encountering Lee Kang’s work. His early words of encouragement, “You have talent,” initially suggest a supportive mentor-student dynamic. However, the tone soon shifts as his interest deepens into obsession and he begins searching for the truth behind Lee Kang’s writing.
The teaser closes with Heo Mun Oh’s unsettling question, “The story you wrote for your assignment, was that real?” hinting at a blurred boundary between fiction and reality and setting up a psychological narrative driven by tension, suspicion, and creative obsession.
Netflix confirmed on May 29th that its new series 'Notes From the Last Row' will premiere on June 26.
