'Drowning' by WOODZ spends 70 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on Melon's 'Top 100', the longest ever in the chart's history

BY Susan-Han · May 15, 2026

"Drowning" by WOODZ has now spent 70 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on Melon's 'Top 100', the longest ever by any song in Melon's history.

The next best record is held by NewJeans's "Hype Boy" at 49 weeks, followed by BTS's "Dynamite" at 36 consecutive weeks.

Meanwhile, "Drowning" was originally released in April of 2023 as a b-side from WOODZ's 5th mini album, 'OO-LI'. It then began climbing up the charts at a monstrous rate around October of 2024, thanks to a viral video of the singer performing for a special episode of 'Immortal Song' while carrying out his mandatory military service. In 2025, the song topped both Melon and Circle's year-end charts.
