EXID’s Hyerin opens taco restaurant in Jongno “I’ve become a boss”

EXID member Hyerin surprised fans by announcing a new chapter in her career this time as a restaurant owner in Seoul’s Jongno District.

On May 20, Hyerin shared a short video on her social media revealing that she has taken on a new challenge. Appearing in an apron, she proudly introduced her latest venture saying “I’ve become a boss” and added a playful invitation “Come see me and eat tacos.”

In the video Hyerin showcased her taco restaurant located in Jongno personally stepping into the kitchen and actively working at the establishment. Fans noted her natural charm and youthful visuals as she appeared without heavy styling while still drawing attention for her clear features.

The post quickly gained attention with fans leaving supportive comments such as “She really looks like a real boss,” “I’ll definitely go eat tacos,” “Still so lovely,” and “A taco shop owner cheering you on.”

Hyerin debuted in 2012 as a member of the girl group EXID and rose to fame with hit songs including "Up & Down," "Ah Yeah," and "DDD."

Beyond her new business venture Hyerin also previously hinted at a possible full group comeback. In November last year she appeared on SBS Life’s 'Shinppal Talk Show: A Strange Story' where discussions about EXID’s future activities were raised.

During the program she shared that the group had been discussing new music saying “We’ve been talking about it. Maybe around next year 2026” while also mentioning that conversations about a new album were ongoing.

When asked about the direction of potential new songs Hyerin expressed curiosity about whether a brighter or more emotional concept would suit them better. A fortune teller on the show suggested “Ballads are fine but a more flashy style would suit you better.”

As Hyerin steps into entrepreneurship while keeping fans updated on potential group activities both her business and music career continue to draw attention.
