BY Demian09 · May 15, 2026

Faker and aespa member Karina have teamed up in Google Play new campaign 'PLAY ON PLAY,' highlighting the joy and variety of mobile gaming experiences across platforms.

Google Play released the full campaign video on May 15 featuring a playful collaboration between esports legend Faker and K-pop star Karina. The campaign sends a message that all gamers, from casual mobile players to professional esports champions, can enjoy and share gaming experiences through Google Play.

The campaign also highlights key features such as Google Play Games, which enables cross-play so users can continue mobile games on larger screens like PCs and tablets, as well as Google Play Points, a rewards system that provides benefits and in-game items as users play more.

The campaign consists of five short-form episodes directed by Dolphiners Films, known for its distinctive creative style and comedic storytelling. The series blends humor with everyday situations, creating a light and playful tone.

Faker and Karina appear in everyday locations including a library, bus stop, subway, PC room, and café. They repeatedly encounter each other while playing mobile games, building a quirky chemistry that connects gaming with daily life.

In the “Library” episode, Faker introduces Karina, who is focused on mobile gaming on her phone, to Google Play Games on a laptop, emphasizing a larger screen experience while making his signature “shh” gesture. In the “Bus Stop” episode, Faker approaches Karina mid-game and humorously says, “I like you… games,” turning a romantic moment into comedy.

In the “Subway” episode, Faker performs an exaggerated forward roll to save Karina’s smartphone in a dramatic and comedic moment. In the “PC room” episode, Faker eats Karina’s food and casually says “pass,” showing a playful and unexpected personality. In the “Café” episode, a near-confession scene turns comedic when Karina spots Faker outside and becomes excited, shifting the moment into a humorous ending.

Through these episodes, the campaign delivers a message that every moment of gaming can become a special experience powered by Google Play.

The full campaign video is available on the official Google Play Korea YouTube channel. From May 15 to May 17, posters featuring Faker and Karina can also be found across the Seongsu area, where QR codes allow visitors to instantly access the campaign content.

Seongsu-dong has been turned into a key offline activation zone, linking digital gaming culture with real-world experiences.
