Six members of Fantasy Boys and Doha of BAE173 have won another legal battle against PocketDol Studio after the court dismissed the agency’s objection to a previous injunction ruling.
Attorney Heo Seong Hoon of Law Firm Liu, the legal representative for the artists, released an official statement on May 14 confirming the decision.
According to the statement, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of the artists in an injunction case filed against PocketDol Studio on April 17. The case sought to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts with the agency. PocketDol Studio immediately filed an objection following the ruling, but the court once again sided with the artists.
The legal representative stated that the court repeatedly pointed out PocketDol Studio’s failure to properly fulfill its settlement obligations, ultimately recognizing the agency’s breach of contract.
As a result of the decision, the six Fantasy Boys members, and BAE173 member Doha are now free from their exclusive contracts with PocketDol Studio and may continue their entertainment activities independently.
Attorney Heo described the ruling as a decision that once again confirmed the importance of an agency’s responsibility to properly carry out financial settlement obligations under exclusive contracts.
Fantasy Boys debuted in 2023 through the MBC survival audition program Fantasy Boys, also known as 'Boy Fantasy Season 2.' The group initially drew attention after Yoo Jun Won, who ranked first in the final competition, did not join the debut lineup due to a separate contract dispute with the agency.
The group later debuted with 11 members but faced uncertainty after members Kang Minseo, Lee Hanbin, Hikaru, Hong Sungmin, Kim Gyurae, and Kaedan filed lawsuits seeking confirmation of the invalidity of their exclusive contracts, along with injunction requests to suspend those contracts.
