Gwangju World Cup Stadium has reportedly decided not to approve the use of its venue for singer Psy’s upcoming 'Summer Swag 2026' concert series.
According to a report on May 29 by Ilgan Sports, the Gwangju Metropolitan City Sports Association’s World Cup Facilities Team officially notified that the application to host 'Summer Swag 2026' at the stadium had been denied.
The decision was made after considering multiple factors, including scheduling conflicts with Gwangju FC matches and uncertainty over pitch restoration due to potential grass damage.
A stadium official told Ilgan Sports, “The final decision has been made to disallow the use of the stadium for ‘Summer Swag 2026.’" However, it was also noted that Psy’s agency, P Nation, had not yet been formally informed at the time of the statement. In response, P Nation said it is “currently reviewing the situation.”
Meanwhile, Psy announced earlier the same day that his 'Summer Swag 2026' tour will span nine cities with a total of 14 performances nationwide. However, the rejection from Gwangju World Cup Stadium is expected to require adjustments to the tour schedule.
The situation leaves open the possibility of changes to one of the tour’s planned venues as discussions continue between the parties involved.
