Hyun Bin takes home Series Actor Award at the 24th Directors' Cut Awards for 'Made in Korea'

Hyun Bin continues his award-winning streak with Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea,' raising anticipation for Season 2 even before its release.

Following his Best Actor win in the television category at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, Hyun Bin also took home the Series Actor award at the 24th Directors' Cut Awards held on May 19, proving both the critical acclaim and popularity of the series.

Set in South Korea during the turbulent yet rapidly developing 1970s, 'Made in Korea' follows Baek Gi Tae, a man who seeks wealth and power by turning the nation itself into a profit model, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young, who relentlessly pursues him with fierce determination as they become entangled in massive events that define the era. Hyun Bin stars as Baek Gi Tae, while Jung Woo Sung plays prosecutor Jang Geon Young.

Hyun Bin’s portrayal of Baek Gi Tae, a director at the Korean Central Intelligence Agency driven by greed and ambition, showcased a side of the actor never before seen in his filmography. Through a meticulous performance balancing explosive intensity with emotional instability, he convincingly brought to life a layered character that could not be simply divided into good or evil.
