i-dle graces PAPER magazine cover with bold angelic concept

BY Minsoo-Kim · May 28, 2026

i-dle has landed on the cover of renowned American magazine PAPER.

PAPER recently unveiled a digital cover pictorial and interview featuring members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua.

In the cover shoot, the group reinterpreted a nostalgic ’90s angelic aesthetic through bold styling filled with vivid colors and eye-catching embellishments, showcasing each member’s distinct individuality.

PAPER praised the group’s artistic identity, stating that i-dle exudes “the comfort that only comes from people who have spent a long time understanding themselves more clearly.” The publication added that the members trust their instincts and musical direction, continuing to move forward with confidence.

The magazine further highlighted the group’s artistic evolution, saying, “Their desire to strip away the unnecessary and move closer to the essence now defines i-dle’s music itself. They have built one of the most original worlds in K-pop — dramatic yet realistic, sharp yet deeply human.”

Regarding the group’s January digital single 'Mono (Feat. skaiwater)', PAPER noted that while the track may sound softer than their previous releases, it carries no sense of uncertainty. Instead, the publication described the song as reflecting “the confidence of artists who no longer need noise to prove themselves.”

The magazine also praised the unreleased track "Crow", first introduced during '2026 i-dle WORLD TOUR [Syncopation]'. PAPER explained that although crows are often associated with ominous symbols such as death or disaster, the group completely overturns that image through the song. The publication described the track as embodying resilience and survival through adversity, adding that the symbolism strengthens the group’s powerful aura.

PAPER concluded by emphasizing that every time i-dle has faced difficult moments, the members have returned with an even stronger understanding of who they are. The feature also heightened anticipation for the group’s upcoming comeback in July.

Previously, i-dle carried out various North American promotions through appearances on shows including 'The Today Show', 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', and 'iHeart KPOP with JoJo'. The group is also set to meet local audiences at Lollapalooza in the United States this July.
