Jaehyun, a member of the global group NCT, has officially returned to civilian life after successfully completing his mandatory military service. On May 3, 2026, Jaehyun was discharged from the Army military band, marking the end of his service that began on November 4, 2024. After finishing his basic military training, he spent the remainder of his enlistment fulfilling his duties within the military band, much to the anticipation of his global fanbase.
With his return, Jaehyun becomes the second member of NCT to complete his military obligations. He follows the group’s leader, Taeyong, who was discharged from the Navy on December 14 of the previous year. Currently, fellow members Doyoung and Jungwoo are still serving in the military and are expected to be discharged in June 2027. Jaehyun’s return is expected to bring a significant boost to the group’s future activities.
Since his debut in 2016, Jaehyun has established himself as a versatile artist through his activities in NCT 127, NCT U, and NCT DoJaeJung. In August 2024, he successfully launched his solo career with his first album, 'J', showcasing his unique musical color. He has also proven his talents as an actor, starring in the film '6 Hours After You Die' and the drama 'Dear. M'. As he concludes his military hiatus, expectations are high for the next chapter of his career as an "all-rounder" in the entertainment industry.
