What began as a casual remark from Kang Min Kyung has now become something of a content formula. Her YouTube channel is increasingly gaining attention as a successful rebranding platform where notoriously private top actresses such as Go Hyun Jung and Song Hye Kyo reveal rare glimpses of their everyday lives.
On May 7, Kang Min Kyung uploaded a new episode featuring Go Hyun Jung titled “Taming Go Hyun Jung.” The video surpassed 700,000 views within just three days of release. Despite its lengthy 40-minute runtime, the content quickly gained traction, highlighting both Ko Hyun Jung’s rarity as a public figure and the growing influence of Kang Min Kyung’s content direction.
The video focused not on “actress Ko Hyun Jung,” but on “Go Hyun Jung the person.” During the episode, Ko Hyun Jung openly shared her concerns about the direction of her own YouTube channel and asked Kang Min Kyung for advice. In response, Kang Min Kyung suggested creating content where Ko Hyun Jung could try things she would not normally attempt, one step at a time.

Throughout the video, Go Hyun Jung revealed a far more relaxed and down-to-earth side compared to her long-established charismatic and elegant public image. This trend had already been proven through numbers earlier this year with Song Hye Kyo’s vlog appearance on the channel.

Released in January 2025, the video titled “Song Hye Kyo vlog… not mine” surpassed approximately 2.69 million views within a day and ranked No. 1 on YouTube’s trending videos chart. Marketing analysis posts later cited the video as a case study after it eventually exceeded 4 million views. It has now surpassed 5.8 million views.
The success of Song Hye Kyo’s vlog stemmed from a similar appeal. The actress naturally moved between promotional schedules and her personal daily life, including luxury jewelry events overseas, meals with friends, birthday celebrations, and promotional events for her film.
From the beginning of the vlog, Kang Min Kyung plainly explained that she hoped the content would also help promote the movie. By approaching the collaboration honestly rather than disguising it as organic content, the video reduced the typical resistance viewers often feel toward promotional material while successfully turning Song Hye Kyo’s rarely seen daily life into compelling content.
